The 2018 Jeep Compass was all-new for 2017. The new Jeep Compass is a versatile compact SUV that is every inch a true Jeep. The Compass is a major leap forward for the popular compact SUV segment. If you are looking for a compact SUV that can do more than just make it to the mall when it rains, check out the 2018 Jeep Compass. It gives you true Jeep capability in a right-sized package, and at an affordable price.

Choose From Four Compass Trim Levels

The 2018 Jeep Compass offers you four different trim levels: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. The entry-level Sport offers a rear view camera and Uconnect infotainment system with a 5” touchscreen. The Latitude adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 17” aluminum wheels, and proximity entry system. The luxurious Limited gives you leather-trimmed seats and a panoramic sunroof.

The Trail-Rated 2018 Jeep Compass Trailhawk showcases Jeep’s legendary tradition of off-road dominance with its best-in-class 4x4 capability. This model features four-wheel independent suspension, skid plates, and a 20:1 crawl ratio for steep grades. The Active Drive Lock 4x4 System features a four-wheel low mode, rear locker and a rock setting on the Selec-Terrain system. This is a Jeep you can roam the backcountry in!

What’s New For 2018 On The Jeep Compass

Because the new Jeep Compass was all-new for 2017, there is just one significant change for 2018: the Limited trim is now available in a 4x2 driveline configuration. Everything else is unchanged from the 2017 version.

A Single Powerful Engine Powers The Compass

The standard – and only – engine that is available on the Compass is the proven, fuel-efficient 2.4L Tigershark 16-valve four-cylinder. With the advanced MultiAir2 fully variable valve-actuation system, the Tigershark produces 180 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft. of torque.

The Compass Sport, Latitude, and Limited trim levels are available as 4x2 (with front-wheel drive) or 4x4 versions. The Trailhawk comes only as a 4x4, as befits its Trail-Rated status.

The 2018 Jeep Compass gives you the option of three transmissions:

  • A six-speed manual on 4x2 and 4x4 models

  • A six-speed automatic on 4x2 models

  • A nine-speed automatic on 4x4 models

The 2018 Jeep Compass is the only compact SUV that offers a nine-speed automatic transmission. This high-tech transmission provides aggressive launches and smooth, efficient power on the highway.

The new Jeep Compass’ estimated fuel economy ranges from 22 to 23 MPG City and 30 to 32 MPG Highway, depending on the exact model, transmission and drive system you select.

Safety Features To Protect You

The 2018 Jeep Compass has over 70 advanced safety and security features as standard or available equipment. Seven air bags are standard, plus electronic roll mitigation, motorized pretensioning seatbelts, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, and rain brake support. Also available are driver assistance technologies like LaneSense departure warning plus, forward collision warning plus, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross path detection.

The 2018 Jeep Compass Will Get You There And Back

If you need a capable compact SUV that can deal with the day-to-day, but can also effortlessly make it to that remote location off the beaten track, the 2018 Jeep Compass may be just right for you.
