The Sport, Sport S, and Sahara have Command-Trac part-time 4WD with a shift-on-the-fly transfer case. The Rubicon has Rock-Trac part-time 4WD with a shift-on-the-fly transfer case and a 4:1 low-gear ratio.

The standard and only engine available in the 2018 Jeep Wrangler is the 3.6L Pentastar V6 with 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. It has been specially engineered for its role in the Wrangler, and produces lots of torque at the low end for the best off-road performance. All 2018 Wranglers have a standard six-speed manual transmission, with the option of a five-speed automatic.
