2018 Kia Sorento: Well-Equipped, Family-Friendly Three-Row SUV

2018 Sorento News Update
There have been a variety of improvements to the entire 2018 Sorento lineup. Here they are by model:

All Sorentos get improved headlight performance and more comfortable front headrests.

  • L receives a rearview camera and auto on/off headlights.
  • LX 2.4L now includes the Cool & Connected package, and the third-row seats are now standard on the all-wheel drive model.
  • EX 2.0L Turbo now comes standard with hands-free power lift gate, power folding outside mirrors , auto-dimming mirror with Homelink, and auto up/down windows in front and rear doors.
  • EX V6 has been upgraded with the items listed for the EX Turbo, plus the Advanced Touring package and autonomous emergency braking are also standard.
  • SX V6 gets an auto-dimming mirror with Homelink.
  • SX Limited V6 receives rain-sensing wipers.

Seven Different Sorento Trim Levels

The 2018 Kia Sorento is available in seven trim levels: L, LX, LX V6, EX, EX V6, SX V6, and SXL V6. 

The L comes with 17” alloy wheels, AM/FM/CD/MP3/SiriusXM audio system, rear camera display, and remote keyless entry. LX adds more exterior color options, sound-absorbing windshield glass, low-profile roof rails, USB 2.1 charging ports, and front seatback pockets. The LX V6 ups the power with a 3.3 Liter V6 engine, a shark fin antenna, and auto-folding 2nd-row seats

EX gives you leather seat trim, 7” color touch-screen display audio system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, smart power liftgate, rear park assist, and a turbocharged engine. EX V6 includes third-row air conditioning with controls, sliding and auto-folding second-row seats, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert and 18” alloy wheels. SX V6 adds a panoramic sunroof, voice command navigation, and an Infinity 10-speaker audio system. The top-of-the-line SXL V6 comes with 19” chrome alloy wheels, advanced smart cruise control, and surround view monitor.

2018 Kia Sorento pricing starts at $25,800 for the L and goes up to $46,200 for the SXL V6 with all-wheel drive.

Three Engines Power The 2018 Sorrento

2018 Sorento offers three different engines, depending on the trim level you select. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder has 185 horsepower and is standard on L and LX trims. The next step up is the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, with 240 horsepower, standard on the EX. The top motor is a 3.3-liter V6 with 290 horsepower, included on LX V6, EX V6, SX V6, and SXL V6 trim levels.

All engines are coupled to a smooth-shifting six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on all trim levels. Dynamax all-wheel drive with torque vectoring and locking center differential is available on all trims except L.

The 2018 Kia Sorento’s estimated fuel economy ranges from 17 to 21 MPG City and 23 to 28 MPG Highway, depending on the exact model and drive system you select.*
